As the main gateway to the town from the west, a new roundabout will be built on the A458 – improving the dangerous junction at Wenlock Road, slowing traffic down and creating a focal entrance to the town with key commercial uses on each side.
To the north, residential areas will be created behind the local centre rising up to Church Lane and beyond. Large areas of public open space, play areas, wildlife opportunities and sustainable drainage systems will be provided to create a balanced and highly attractive place to live.
South of the A458, a range of commercial and employment uses will be strategically placed within the natural landscape culminating in the relocated Livestock Market at the southern end.
